The vast majority of conservatories are made from PVCu. This is a cost-effective option, also providing low maintenance, good insulation and structural strength. There are lots of different colours available as well as white.
Conservatories made of wood can give a more luxurious look to a property. They can be more in keeping with some traditional properties or those in conservation areas. A variety of different hardwoods can be used and may be painted in any colour or stained in several different shades.
Aluminium is the most durable material. It has a thermal break giving excellent insulation, whilst also being the slimmest material option. It can be powder coated in virtually any colour to give a long-lasting, maintenance-free finish.
Lean-To Conservatory – Bringing light to a dark house
An existing extension to this typical mid-terrace property made the dining room very dark.
Spooner Brothers removed two internal walls and installed a 7m x 1.2m lean-to conservatory with bi-fold doors. This design maximises the available light, allowing it to flood into the house. The customers love their new-look dining room.
